Sharkeez Hermosa Beach, CA
South Bay Bar is As Popular as Surfing & Volleyball

Sharkeez Hermosa Beach is the true local's hangout on Lower Pier Ave.
It is a mecca of the sunburned and thirsty, there is a place that is as popular in the South Bay as surfing and beach volleyball.
Sharkeez. Anyone in the Los Angeles beach cities of Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach know it well.
It's the prime place on Pier Ave., the party place where people know they can go to at any time of the day or night, because if nothing is happening at that moment, it is likely to happen later.
Locals refer to it as "The Black Hole," because if they go in "for just a couple" of drinks they often wind up staying until closing time. Sharkeez is THAT kind of place.
It's known for its margaritas and potent Shark Attacks, big buckets of booze and syringe Jell-o shots. There are DJs most nights and birthday and bachelorette party groups are commonplace.
The dress is as casual as one would expect at the beach. It is not uncommon to walk through the place and see every single patron in flip-flops.
Basically, Sharkeez is a beach bar with a cantina theme. It serves great food, much better than the typical fried choices of many drink-first establishments across the country. Tacos are its signature dish but it also has sizzling fajitas, burritos, combo plates and a mahi mahi sandwich that can rival just about anything in Hermosa Beach.
It has a daily Happy Hour, 2-for-1 on nearly everything behind the bar (an exception is Stella draft beer) and appetizer specials, 4-7 Monday thru Friday.
There are also food specials during the week – fajitas on Mondays, Taco Tuesday, burgers on Wednesdays and burritos on Thursdays.
Weekends have breakfast with free mimosas for an hour or a "build your own" bloody mary bar. Most food items are less than $10.
There are TVs everywhere, making it a paradise for watching sports. In the fall it's crowded at 9 in the morning when fans of Wisconsin and other Big 10 teams are on the tube, and it pretty much stays that way through the Sunday night NFL game.

With a young party crowd, Sharkeez can cut loose at any time.
So yes, Sharkeez is something for everyone, but mainly it's for people like to eat well, party hard and still be beach casual. Get there before 9 p.m., on weekends, by the way, for the place always has a huge line at night.
