Four Daughters Manhattan Beach
The first impression was impressive. Just up the street from SurfsideSam.com's beach pad is a fairly new restaurant called Four Daughters Kitchen. It's in the North Manhattan area of Manhattan Beach, CA, in a space formerly held by a high-end dining spot called Bora-Bora. (And before that a hole-in-the-wall bar called, no kidding, Hillary's Hole in the Wall).
So, on cloudy summer's day when being inside did not seem like such a bad idea, SurfsideSam arranged for a business lunch at Four Daughters. The lunch menu has a half-dozen selections of sandwiches, salads and burgers. I opted for the chicken chipotle, while my friend went for the chopped chicken (they were out of the Cuban, which one of us would have ordered).
This was not a problem because the waitress right there with a refill when the glass approached empty. In fact, it was a bonus, because with a constant smile, pleasing personality, starlit eyes and a figure ideally suited for a beach city, Breanna is more saucy than the chipotle. The sandwich was fantastic. The chicken was moist and the sauce flavorful with just enough of a kick that I had to wash it down with several glasses of water.
