A look a place where people want to send pictures to their friends and say "this is where I'm spending my vacation!"

Welcome to Sandy Spit!
Small Island is One of the Most Beautiful in the BVIs

This is a brochure shot but it really exists, and it's called Sandy Spit.

It is the perfect postcard spot, the place where people want to send pictures to their friends and say "this is where I'm spending my vacation!"

Sandy Spit may not be the most glamourous of names, especialy for a place so stunning, but what it lacks on a nautical chart is more than made up for in real-life bueaty.

It is a little spit of land – thus, its name – near the Soggy Dollar Bar. It has no restaurant, bar or facilities. It's simply a gorgeous stop in the BVIs, a place to drop anchor and swim to, lay out on the beach and let the small waves splash over the body, half in and half out of the water.

There's not much to Sandy Spit, but it's not short at all on beauty.

The water is as clear as light Caribbean rum and the beach is as white as a Canadian. Feet sink into the sand, the water rolls up to the waistline and the head falls back to put the body in a total state of relax. The back side of the island is a bit rocky and windy, so most people hang out on the side where the boats anchor.

It is here that people jump off the rail and snorkle to one of the most scenic and relaxing spot in all the islands.

There's not much to Sandy Spit – or this story for that matter - but simple beauty sometimes says it all. And yes, that's Sandy Spit featured in the SurfsideSam.com tagline.
