• Avalon Improving Harbor Water Quality. When you go to Catalina this spring and into the summer, you will likely see some unsightly construction among the very scenic views. That's because Avalon is replacing old sewer pipes in an effort to improve the water quality in the harbor. It's a long-overdue project; the water there is consistently rated among the worst in the state, despite being crystal clear.
• New Walkway Connects Two Main Tourist Areas in Malaysia. It's now an easy – and comfortable – walk to get from the two main tourist areas in Kuala Lumpur. A new air-conditioned pedestrian walkway connects the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) and Bukit Bintang, two popular tourist sites in the city. KLCC has shopping, dining, nightlife, and attractions, including the Petronas Twin Towers, the tallest twin structures in the world. Bukit Bintang is Kuala Lumpur’s trendiest shopping and entertainment area. The elevated walkway is roughly 1,842 feet long and 16 feet wide.
